William Oliver Campbell, professionally known as Billy Campbell, portrays major character Alan Farragut in Season 1 and Season 2 of Helix. It originally aired on January 30th, 2015 (10:00PM EST) on Syfy in the US, and on Showcase in Canada.
Early Life[]
Campbell was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, on July 7, 1959. Campbell's parents divorced when he was two, and he attended Fork Union Military Academy and later Western Albemarle High School.
Career[]
Campbell's first major role was on the television show Dynasty as Luke Fuller, the lover of Steven Carrington.
His later roles include Detective Joey Indelli in Crime Story (1986-1988), Quincey Morris in Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992), Rick Sammler in Once and Again (1999-2002), and Darren Richmond in The Killing (2011-2014).
Campbell starred as Alan Farragut on Helix from 2014 to 2015.
Trivia[]
Campbell was close to being cast as William Riker in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but lost the part to Jonathan Frakes.
Campbell was romantically involved with The Rocketeer costar Jennifer Connelly for five years, from 1991 to 1996.
In 2000, Campbell was named one of People's "World's 50 Most Beautiful People".
Campbell is a rugby enthusiast, and has played with both the Chicago Lions RFC and the Santa Monica Rugby Club.
